cupcakes, Sainte Barbe and dinner out

13 08 2015

1. Dawn, the gite owner, brings a plate of homemade cupcakes over at breakfast. ‘I heard it was someone’s birthday yesterday,’ she says.

2.I thought the trip to visit Sainte Barbe’s church would be rather dull, but the location in a misty valley is beautiful, the moss covered stone staircases are lovely, and you even get to ring a huge bell on arrival. Plus there’s a massive field next door so we get the kite out for a spin.
3. Dinner out. Despite the owner’s grumpy demeanour, the food is delicious and we have a very pleasant evening.
