Park, Brummie trick or treat and big bath

1. A walk round the park in Kings Heath after a painful journey on the M6.
2. Brummie trick or treat. Less busy than at home so the girls are delighted to get double dips of the treats.
3. Kirsty enjoys the big bath all to herself and delights in its size.

Walk, Chorley cake and dinner

1. The girls manage the walk along the ‘coffin route’ and around Rydal Water, finding ‘precious’ Quartz along the way and even spotting an otter, thanks to Dad.
2. Chorley cake and tea after meeting up with Dad’s niece and husband.
3. A delicious dinner of Morecombe Bay shrimps and more at the Punch Bowl Inn- ‘Cumbrian pub of the year.’

Lunch, stroll, Storrsthwaite

1. A lovely lunch with Dad and Kirsty in Winster while the others cycle.
2. A stroll lakeside at Windermere with Sarah and family.
3. Dinner at Storrsthwaite while Dad babysits.

Art Deco, chip lunch and flying along

1. It’s raining so we head for Morecombe. Coffee and biscuits in the ‘sun’ lounge at the newly restored Art Deco midland hotel.
2. Fish, chips, bread and butter and a pot of tea at Atkinsons fish and chip shop.
3. Doris flies along the front on her bike, gaining confidence with every yard.

Bike, Gruffalo and roast

1. Doris first go on her new bike and she loves it.
2. A Gruffalo walk in the rain at Grizedale forest.
3. Dad arrives and we have Roast chicken and a roaring fire in the woodburner.

Alpacas, first fell and curry

1. We wake up with green fells all around and alpacas in the fields. Brian gives us a guided tour – they are funny looking animals and Isla in particular is fascinated by them.
2. A windy walk up Gummers How and the girls first ever fell. I have to hold on tight to Isla so she doesn’t blow away at the top.
3. A family curry.

Early drive, pub and scrum

1. Up early and a super early drive to the Lakes but we get there by noon.
2. A cosy lunch in a pub nestled in amongst the dells
3. A scrum food shopping at Booths but it’s done and we are sorted for the week.

Dine in, bicycle lunch and resign

1. After Bikes and slides I see it’s dine in for £10 at M&S and grab a couple for the holiday.
2. Lunch at the bicycle bakery on Camden Road.
3. It’s the end of my time at Sackville School – feels strange to resign but it’s the right time to finish.

Coffee, sort out and biccies

1. Coffee and a delicious almond croissant at a friend from the book group’s house.
2. A good sort out of baby clothes.
3. Homemade biccies.

Christmas, plus one and fill up

1. Finalising Christmas plans
2. Doris is thrilled to be invited as her friend’s plus one at her brother’s Soft play birthday party, involving a trip to ‘Old McDonalds.’
3. Filling up at the petrol station with cheap fuel.
